INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION
The Instructor certification is the first step after purchase that your department will take. To do so, your department will designate officer(s) to become a certified Instructor. Those Instructors will then certify the rest of your staff as End Users. All CD3 product users must complete and pass the course before they're authorized to use the products. The first portion of this course is online and covers the care, troubleshooting, operating information, and considerations needed to safely operate the G.L.O.V.E. device. The in-person portion covers the minimum defensive tactics we deem vital to operate the device safely for both the officer and subject. The cost of the course allows for six officers to be trained with the option to add more officers for an additional cost per extra officer. Pricing is available upon request.
Our full Agency Master Instructor course is 15 Lessons across two days and an online pre-training portion. The course certifies designated leaders from each defensive tactics to be used in conjunction with the G.L.O.V.E. device.
What to expect
EVERY STEP OF THE WAY
As of April 2026, all agencies are required to complete an online pre-training requirement. During the in-person training, participants will review the online content, learn how to use CD3 tools, and receive defensive tactics for deploying the G.L.O.V.E. against non-compliant or combative individuals (the defensive tactics portion of the training is only available to agencies that have purchased G.L.O.V.E.s). Access to our online instructor support portal will be granted after course completion.
ONLINE. PART ONE. ESTIMATED TWO HOURS.
The first part of the certification is an online portion that covers the required lessons in Compliant Technologies Basic Instructor course. It will take approximately two hours to complete. Some of the sections in this course include:
- Troubleshooting the device
- Medical considerations
- Post event protocols
- Understanding 3 levels of use
Agencies are required to complete this online portion before the in-person training. Agencies who fail to complete it will not be permitted to start the next portion.
IN-PERSON PART TWO. FOUR HOURS.
A brief review of the lessons learned in the online portion will be provided. In-person lessons are made up of four defensive tactic lessons, originally developed for our Agency Master Instructor course.
- Wrap and Unwrap Drill
- Working from the Inside of the Body to the Outside
- Folding the Hand
- Partners and Cuffing
Teach-backs are required for this portion of the course. After the completion of the course students will gain access to our online portal where they will need to pass a brief quiz before earning their certificate.
INSTRUCTOR PORTAL
FOR CONTINUED TRAINING
Our instructor portal helps instructors review the lessons they've been taught and will teach to the other users in their department.
- Video breakdowns of the lessons
- Video examples of drills
- Notes and considerations
We believe in providing lasting support for our instructors after they complete their certification. Re-certification is required every two years. Failure to re-certify within the two year mark will cause Instructors access to the online portal to be revoked.
